Are you living up to your true potential? How do you know what your true potential is, and how can you live up to it? This is a question I get asked, and that I ask myself, regularly. However, before we get into the three main things I do to figure out if I am living to my true potential, you have to find out if you are making the biggest mistake which is hindering your potential right now. You assume. Assumptions are the biggest mistake you can make when trying to reach your true potential. Most people assume that they cannot do something…without trying! Poor assumptions lead to never trying, to never pushing yourself to the next level. It is a terrible thing to do! If you haven’t tried to push yourself to the next level, how do you know what is or isn’t possible? After we get the poor assumptions out of the way, here are the three things you can do to discover your true potential:

How to Reach your True Potential

1.) Find Your Limit – This is the “trying”. You need to drop the assumptions and go out and try, try again and then try harder until you actually reach a point where you are physically incapable of reaching the next level. Most often you will find that you aren’t in the same place you started, even if it isn’t exactly where you want to be. You have made progress. 2.) Visualize the Status Quo – Another thing you can do is to visualize the status quo. What would your life look like in 5 years, 10 years, or 15 years if you didn’t try to do something spectacular? What would your life look like if you just coasted from here on out? This visualization exercise, for me, is a scare tactic more than anything else. I hate to be stagnate and I always need to be moving forward. 3.) Visualize your Best-case Scenario – Next, visualize how awesome things would be if you were to reach your maximum potential and achieve your dreams. What does life look like now? How happy are you? The next step is getting there. But does this visualization make you want to work harder? It should. A lot goes into reaching your true potential. You need to surround yourself with the right people, you need to manage your time wisely and you need to channel your efforts in the right direction. That’s why in my next article I will be talking all about channeling and how it has worked amazingly for me and Jim. Stick around, and until next time! -Linda
